After baths this morning, we made a list of jobs for Samuel and Sofia and for the next 2 hours our whole family was hard at work on our Saturday jobs. I was really surprised at how much Samuel and Sofia actually enjoyed doing their jobs and it just made me realize how important it is that kids help around the house! Not so much so that the house will be clean quickly, because really, what we did in 2 hours Chris and I could've done in an hour, but for their own sake. It made them feel important and gave them a sense of reponsibility. They carried their little lists around with them as we worked and crossed off each job after it was complete. At the end, Chris and I went around and inspected their work and they got to choose 1 piece of candy to eat.
Contrary to what this picture may suggest, Sofia actually enjoyed cleaning that toilet.

It is amazing how some of the most gross jobs to us, are the most fun for the kids (like scrubbing the toilet bowl)!

That picture of Sofia is BEAUTIFUL! She is so adorable... Can you come over here and teach my kids how to clean? :)
